Services & Pricing:
Esther Mitchell provides a full service of research, document drafting, and editing for
content and style.
Prices are calculated based on time and expertise. These prices also include $25
in duplication and shipping fees. Any duplication or shipping required beyond
the included fees will be billed extra. No extra duplication or shipping will be
done without the express written consent of the client.
Research:
Standard: Includes extensive library and information searches as relates to the subject
provided by the client. At the end of research, the client is provided with a detailed
outline of the research obtained, as well as a brief summary of research and copies of
all applicable documents.
Price per Day: $145.00
Advanced: Includes all functions of a Standard Research assignment, plus searches of
public records and court records, and interviews conducted with experts. At the end
of research, in addition to outline, summary, and document copies, client will receive
either a transcript or tape recording of any interviews conducted.
Price per Day: $225.00
On-Site: Includes all functions of the Advanced Research assignments, plus first-hand
research on a location that requires travel. At the end of research, in addition to
providing all information listed in above categories, the On-Site option also provides
the client with photographs, location notes, and any pertinent impressions gathered in
the process of research. Note: On-Site Research, unlike either above assignment,
requires an upfront cost and is billed per hour, with payment for all travel-related
expenses due on the contracted date, regardless of five(5) day first-look policy.
Per Hour Fee (not to include expenses): $20, with a minimum of 1 week of
research time paid for required.
Document Drafting:
Letters, Resumes, and Data Entry: Client provides hand-written documents or
data and required format. This is strictly a typing/data entry agreement, and fees are
calculated per word. Letter and resume typing and document transcription include
spelling and grammar editing at no additional charge.
Fee: $0.05/ word
Article Generation: Client provides subject matter. This is a research/writing
contract. At the conclusion of the project, the client receives article and bibliography.
Additional material may be requested, for an added fee. All articles require "Esther
Mitchell" to appear in the by-line, unless otherwise indicated in contract. Fees are
calculated based upon a Word-Per-Page scale of 250-300 WPP. Additional
wordage per page requirements must be negotiated at time of contract.
Fee: $30/page
Ghostwriting: Client provides subject matter and formating required. This is a
research/writing contract. At the conclusion of project, client receives completed
article/book, bibliography, and all other pertinent research materials/documentation.
Fees are calculated separately for research and writing.
Research Fee: $20/hour
Writing Fee: $15/page
Content Writing: Client provides website/newsletter information and subject matter.
At the conclusion of project, client receives all content material and a suggested
format. Client also receives a discount voucher for future content revisions, if agreeing
to place "Content provided by Esther Mitchell" on website/newsletter. Fees are
calculated on a per-page scale, with a maximum of 1,000 words per page.
Fee: $50/ page (includes graphic inserts and formatting)
Editing:
All editing assignments are contract obligations. They may be combined from any
of the above categories, or provided for already drafted documents. General editing
contracts include a line edit for grammatical and spelling errors, and overall style and
flow editing. A research edit may be requested, and includes a basic search to verify
accuracy of factual content. Fees for editing are based on a per-hour rate. Research
edit requests require an additional charge.
Standard: $10 / Hour
Research: $25 / Hour
Critique Service:
A critique service is available for all fiction/non-fiction. Provides a general content
critique, as well as all editing services described above. Critiques can be provided for
either the entire content, or a portion of the content. Fees are based on a per-page
scale (for larger projects, this can be negotiated on a per-hour fee or flat-rate fee).

Average
turnaround time:
Average turnaround time
is one week for editing or
copywriting jobs of under
5,000 words. Projects
over 5,000 words must
be negotiated. Rush jobs
are accepted, but will be
charged additional fees.
Research jobs require at
least two weeks for an
accurate outline of
information.
Other Terms:
1. All projects/services
are on contract, and all
contracts must be
signed before work is
begun.
2. Client must provide
both an e-mail address
and physical address at
time of contract.
3. When the requested
assignment is finished,
the client will receive an
e-mail with a portion of
the completed
assignment attached.
The client has five (5)
days to look over the
attached portion and
decide if it is satisfactory
to their needs. (This
grace period does not
apply to Editing or
Critique services.
Payment for these
services is due upon
receipt of notice that the
assignment is finished)
4. After five days,
payment is due. The
completed assignment
will not be forwarded to
the client until payment
receipt is verified.
5. Additional terms and
conditions may apply,
and will be included as
part of the contract on
an assignment by
assignment basis.
